gagabux is scam

Update: We have tested this site to our limits. It has now come to a turning point and it is time to make a decision. The site has failed to take the appropriate actions and resolve their payment problems. So now we must make our stand and change the status of GagaBux. We are now deeming them as a Scam site, and a huge investment risk to potential investors.

A little history...

We have had the site on the Ongoing List for many months, however the payment delays kept getting worse. The site is showing that it pays, however, it is not within their own policy. People are reporting it is taking over 2 months to get paid! This is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

GagaBux has become the next Bux.to. A site that has shown that it has paid, but picks and chooses whom to pay and when. For example, there are members at bux.to that had to wait over 2 years to get paid and some still haven't been paid! GagaBux has a very long payment queue. Which might be more than what they can handle.

Some are saying this is a blatant scam, and that there is no doubt about it. Others are saying it pays, but you have to be patient. There are limits and everyone has them. Patient and "you will be paid soon" will only go so far.

After receiving a lot of complaints from this site and seeing the long delays, it is quite clear that this site does not have the money to pay everyone. GagaBux is relying on new investments to pay old members. A ponzi scheme is what most would call it.

There are going to be some who say "hey you were paid!". Yes we were, but not everyone is getting paid. Which is not a honest way to run a PTC site.

There are a lot of complaints on the web, and you will see some who say that these complaints are from those who only wish to ruin GagaBux reputation. Not entirely true. On the flip side, there are those who are praising gaga, and many of them are moderators, or those who earn huge cashouts. Or they are high paying investors. Initial investors will always be the ones to cashout huge earnings first.  That is how most ponzi schemes work. It is those who come in later that will be the ones who suffer from these type of schemes.

As of now, we would not recommend GagaBux. Here are the combine reasons why they are now on our Scam List:

1. Complaints & Negative Feedback -
There a lot of complaints. Non payments to account issues. You can find these complaints at these places:

To many to even list. See our comment section for more complaints.

2. Non Payments - Members are now waiting several months without being paid. They say it is within 37 business days. However there are those who are saying "Approved" payments will take 5 - 7 business days. So the question remains, how long does approvals take? This is being deceiving and people shouldn't have to try to figure out or decipher what the actual wait time is. It should be clear and precise.

To put things into perspective, they have gone to the lengths of adding a payment date calculator! Bad news, when you see this. You shouldn't need a calculator to know when to expect payment!  Even then, is not guaranteed. The calculator tells you to contact support if you have gone over 37 business days. What for? Not like they respond or do anything about it.

We have seen these calculators before on sites that have turned into a scam. Bux.to (another scam site) had the exact same thing, and look how well that turned out. There are other sites out there that are 10 times better and paying on time! You don't need a calculator to figure out when to expect payment!

3. Bugs !-
There is always something wrong with this site. If it is not one thing, then it is another. This site uses one of the buggiest script you can get your hands on. At one time we had a large a balance that didn't even reflect what our stats was saying we should have earned.Contacted support and the issue was resolved. The site continues to have problems with bugs and glitches. Many new sites go through this, but this is ongoing for many months now.

4. Post Complaints are Not Accepted-  Since the forum posts are pre approved many posts are not being approved. We don't have a problem with a forum pre approving forum posts, it is when the complaints are being rejected is what we have a problem with. Received several reports about posts not getting through. I can understand if a person is cursing or being disrespectful, but if it is a legitimate complaint then they should be approving them.

5. Poor Rentals - Receiving complaints about the rentals. We don't recommend buying refs at any site, especially a new one... people are complaining about receiving dead referrals. Here is a glimpse of those complaints :

6. Sustainable ? - This is what everyone is going "Gaga" over. The ads. There are a lot of ads. 1 cent per click can add up pretty fast. So how can they afford this? Many of the ads are self sponsored. So these type of ads are not being paid for by advertisers but from those who upgrade and decide to invest. When a site relies on investments in time it will fail.

7. Boycotted - They have been added to GPTBoycott List. A site has to receive complaints before they are put on the boycott list. http://www.gptboycott.com/boycotted/Gagabux

Summary:

GagBux is a site that will pay as money comes in.  The site at one time was paying everyone and on time. Then the site started to fall behind on payments. The site in our view, is too risky to even waste your time and money on. Use at your own risk, you were warned.

If anyone would like to share their experience that they had with this site, whether it is good or bad, feel free to do so in our comment section at the end of this review.

Old Updates:

Update: (May 23, 2010) We are moving GagaBux from the Ongoing Investigations List to the Watch List. A list for all sites that are on the verge of going scam if they do not fix their problems.

We have had the site on the Ongoing List for many months, however the payment issue seems to be getting worse. The site is showing that it pays, however, it is not within their policy, 5 - 7 Business Days. People are reporting it is taking over 20 days if not a month to get paid.

Update: (April 23, 2010) 12th payment received. It took 11 business  days, even though it says 5-7 business days. Requested on April 8th and received it April 23rd. Also the extra character being displayed on the payment address didn't cause any problems (that we know of) with our cashout. Most likely it is is display bug.
Update: (April 15, 2010) Once again, another bug and another problem. Several members are having problems with their payment address showing extra characters at the end of their email address. For instance a period (.) will show after the full email address. We have noticed that our payment email address has been showing this as well and for quite some time. The problem is that the site has disabled the edit email address function and no one can remove this error. We doubt that this is user error. The site seems to have another bug, yet again.

We have contacted staff and asked them about this issue. Will update and relay any info that they give us and whether or not this will affect payments.

Update: (March 31, 2010) Received several emails from the Admin that the site is working on the direct referral deletion problem. The site cares about their image and are working hard to rid the site of these bugs. As I said before the site does pay, it just takes a lot of patience to use the site. Also the site is loading a lot faster than it has the past 3 days. Which is a good sign. Will see if things continue to improve. The site is under 3 months old. So it will remain on the Ongoing Investigations List till their 3rd month anniversary.

Update: (March 30, 2010) Moved the site off the Legit List. Site pays, but the site is always having a problem. If it isn't one thing it is another. Either the site takes too long to load or people are reporting bugs and glitches in their accounts. Very frustrating to use a site for this long and it still doesn't work like it should. Either the site needs to look for another script or fix the problems. Will update if we learn more.
